The Dietitian's Dinners, 9/1-9/7

An honest report on what the dietitian's family ate for dinner last week... As always I strive to 1) sit down together, 2) ensure a protein for everyone, and 3) include at least one fruit and/or vegetable. Mostly it happens, sometimes it doesn't. C'est la vie.

Sunday- super quick gnocchi and marinara, sourdough from the CSA, green salad from the CSA (tomatoes from our garden).

Monday- beach picnic for Labor Day- chicken drumsticks (hard boiled eggs for me), marinated tomato salad, pesto courtesy of a friend's abundant basil crop, French bread, grapes.

Tuesday- kids/hubby ate pizza with friends, I ate a bowl meal on the way to the airport.

Wednesday- stir-fry with ground pork and tofu. Edamame (from the freezer) on the side.

Thursday- chicken burritos (pinto beans for me), with watermelon and corn from the CSA.

Friday- clam linguine- super quick meal that both the pescetarian (me) and semi-seafood allergic (hubby) can eat, and that the kids LOVE. Italian bread and strawberries on the side.

Saturday- dinner with friends- brats, corn, Spanish tortilla, green salad, bread and GRILLED PEACHES à la mode for the perfect late summer dessert.
